Silicone-based antifoams contain a silicon compound as the active ingredient. This may come in the form of an oil or a water-based emulsion. The silicone compound consists of hydrophobic additives integrated into a dimethylpolysiloxane, to which emulsifiers are added to ensure that the silicone disperses quickly within the foam-forming medium.
Silicone oils, thanks to their surface protection properties, non-stick effect, lubrication, and ability to enhance product color, are widely used across numerous industries.
